A recital order with no quick changes
Paste your routines and who dances in each. Showorder finds a running order where every dancer has at least three routines to change between numbers, keeps your opener and closer where you put them, and tells you plainly about any quick change it could not remove and why. Then it prints the program, the backstage running order and a sheet for each family.
Dancer names never leave your browser.
A recital roster is mostly children's names, so Showorder has no server to send them to. The ordering runs on this page, the show is saved in this browser only, and there is no account. Keep a copy with the backup file whenever you like. We make no other claim about the children in your show: this is a planning tool.
How it works
- Paste your routines. From a spreadsheet: one row per routine with its dancers, one row per routine and dancer pair, or a grid with dancers down the side and routines across the top.
- Check the names. Dancers are matched by name across routines. Near duplicates such as "Mia Chen" and "Mia C" are offered for merging.
- Set the gap. Three routines between a dancer's numbers is the default. Raise it for a dancer with a hard costume, and add an intermission.
- Build the order. The solver keeps pins, spreads each dancer's numbers apart, and lists any quick change that is left with the dancer, the two routines and the reason.
- Adjust and print. Drag a routine and the flags update as you move it. Print the backstage running order, the quick change report, the program and family sheets.
An order you still control
The running order is an artistic call. Lock the numbers you care about, drag the rest, and let the planner flag every change that got too tight, with the dancer named.
